The San Diego Half Marathon executive team is committed to planning a race and event with minimal impact to the environment. We are partnering with various green team committees and leveraging best practices from other eco-friendly event planning organizations.
Sustainability measures include, but are not limited to:
- 100% online registration with no paper registrations or mailing of paper
registration forms - Providing recycling bins throughout course and event
- Enlisting professional cleaning services that will also ensure all possibly
recyclable materials are properly separated and recycled - Providing information on public transportation for race participants and
event attendees - Providing reusable gear check bags for all half marathon participants
- Planning San Diego Half Marathon Community Service events that will clean up other areas of San Diego in the months following the race
